I was born in Vologda, Russia. I also received there my first University education (Faculty of Philology, Vologda State Pedagogical University). Later on, I moved to Saint-Petersburg and entered a Master Program “Studies in European Societies” (Faculty of Sociology, St. Petersburg State University). I found there a diverse community of students and professors, exciting international focus and modern, flexible style of learning. This experience inspired me to pursue an academic career. Later on I went to United States to study at the master program at the Grand Valley State University. I also studied research methods at the Summer Institute of the University of Michigan. These studies prepared me for the education at the doctoral level, and I entered the PhD Program at the University of Eastern Finland, where I am currently conducting my research. In order to find more details about me, you can take a look at my CV.
